The NDS Library of Icons.

The above network map was created using my NDS Network Diagramming System. As you can see my system can easily diagram any IT infrastructure clearly - both physically and logically - for presentations, reports and proposals.

About the NDS Diagramming System
All of the network diagram icons included in the package are created in Adobe Illustrator©. You must own a copy of that software to be able to move and position the icons precisely to create your network diagram (version 8.0 or higher). My icons are basically clip art (but with a big difference).

The entire system works on a grid layout. The icons, lines and boxes snap to this invisible grid assuring that everything will line up easily and quickly. Understanding this grid will allow you to work quickly and efficiently when you are creating your network diagram.

All of my icons are designed, drawn and created by me. I use generic icons to represent the various network devices mainly for clarity. I have found that it is easier to understand and comprehend a network map if all of the devices are consistent on that map. For example it becomes confusing and harder to understand a diagram when there are 8 different icons representing the same type of device (example: 8 servers with 8 different vendors and 8 different icons).

To better understand this system I suggest that you download my easy to understand, eight page pdf manual found on the tutorial page. You can go to that page by clicking here.

"They are the best looking network diagrams around. They convey the network much better than the so called network designing tools."

Axonometric

The technical name for this style of drawing is "Axonometric". Axonometric is a three dimensional drawing style where everything in the drawing is placed on a 90º or 45º angle. Lining up network diagrams using this style produces a very clear and concise graphic that is easy to produce and easy for the viewer to comprehend quickly.
